Greg Forristall (born February 15, 1950) is the Iowa State Representative from the 22nd District. A Republican, he has served in the Iowa House of Representatives since 2007. Forristall was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa and was raised and resides near Macedonia. He completed coursework in computer science and international marketing at Iowa Western Community College and earned bachelors and masters degrees in music from the University of Iowa. , Forristall serves on several committees in the Iowa House - the Human Resources, Transportation, and Ways and Means committees. He also serves as the chair of the Labor committee and as a member of the Economic Development Appropriations Subcommittee. ==Biography== Greg Forristall grew up on the family farm near Macedonia, and after graduation from Carson-Macedonia High School, he went on to earn bachelor and master degrees in music at the University of Iowa. Greg currently resides in Macedonia with his wife, Carol, who taught music in Iowa public schools for thirty-five years. Greg farmed for 25 years and also worked in the financial services and information technology industries. Greg has been active in the community with organizations such as the Council Bluffs Sister Cities, Farm Bureau, the Iowa Corn Promotion Board and the Iowa Western Community College Board. He has been a member of the United States Grain Council and has served on the Iowa State Board of Education and the Iowa Community College Council. Greg is a founding and continuing member of the Grist Mill Fine Arts Council. He chairs the Education Task Force of the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC) and is on the executive committee of the Midwest Higher Education Compact. Forristall also represents Iowa in national meetings of the Lumina Foundation and the Foundation for Excellence in Education.
